Farmington is a city in Davis County, Utah. It is a suburban community located only few miles away from the eastern coast of the Great Salt Lake. According to the US Census of 2000, Farmington has a population of more than 12,000 people. The city has a total area of 7.8 square miles with a population density of over 1,500 people per square mile. It is located at high altitudes of over 4,300 feet above sea level. The racial demographics of Farmington are predominately white with 96%, as other groups make up less than 4% of the population.
